When Ginger took this picture in 2011 the barn was hotly contested. The historical society wanted to buy it but for some reason didn’t.
This poor barn was so hotly contested. It was an icon.
The barn was built in 1900. The Dr. Pierce’s ad was originally painted in 1912, and had been repeatedly repainted and touched up. The barn was on the National Register of Historic Places, but that does not prevent the owner from demolishing it. Which he did after no one would buy it. (So he could sell the property.)…
